
New Year's Resolutions
Greetings readers and welcome to a new blog, and a new year. I suppose as we all get older, so time seems to move quicker. Blame it on Global Warming!
Suffice to say, it's already Back to School, Valentine is just around the corner and before you know it, we'll be seeing Christmas decorations around town and listening to carols in every shopping centre!
But before I start making my Christmas wish list - just yet - I guess it is time to reflect back on the year just passed and the one ahead; what I would like to accomplish and how I will do just that.
2007 (MMVII in Roman Numerals) was a big year in terms of leaving the relative comfort of employment, and embarking

on a career on my own, as my own boss and responsibility to make sure I earn a pay-cheque each month.
It's now January and after some hard work, things are looking good and I hope to reap the rewards of some productive endeavours.
So how will I accomplish my goals? Obviously the first priority is to work smarter, not work harder. There are only so many hours in the day, and between my housekeeping, husband and fatherly duties, there is limited amount of time I can spend working, so I need to maximize what I do in that time - and that means jettisoning the nonsense and making sure I keep my clients happy.
Secondly, to not be a doormat in terms of being willing to help people when they are well-enough equipped to do it themselves, and certainly not for free.

'Nice' doesn't put food on my family's plate.
On a personal note, we are nappy training Julia and it's coming on a treat. She's 2 years and 2 months old now and it is staggering how kids develop!
